Honor 8 user here… Rejected a Moto x4, rejected a LG G6 64GB. Both felt slow and/or inconvenient compared to the smooth and reliable Huawei. Such as proper placed finger print reader, better Hotspot performance, simple design and easy to use Apple like layout. Love the custom features out of the box. I am looking for phone worthy to take the Honor 8s position.

I've certainly seen better and used better…. but what made this phone my daily driver was the modding community and it's battery. It was honestly reviews like yours that cut to the chase that sparked my interest and eventual purchase of this device and while it was unimpressive for its price… it not only aged well but I've yet to have any major issues with it. However, the lcd bruised within the first 6 months and I have to do a complete wipe each time I update the custom rom (lineage/cyanogen) I'd say it was my best investment.

Such a pity that the mate series is no longer as glorious as before, they should have stuck with their previous policy, just one perfect MATE and that's it! I just hate that now there are two phones the standard and the pro, and the pro always lacks the 3.5 mm headphone jack, while the standard one does not, so confusing and unreasonable of Huawei

Still using this and under android pie. Huawei did a good job on this phone and it really aged like fine wine. I really want new phones but everytime I open this phone I get second thought as this is already a good phone.
Those phones in China cost $249 for a fully loaded unit so they are not a bargain like you claim and let's not forget the spyware built into the software

2 years later and its still snappy, batteries at the 7hrs screen on time battery hasn't degraded and the phone still feels future proof. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful phone. Using it in 2019 without any regrets. Just fed up with 18:9 displays when zooming out video cuts the content. 16:9 and wider display is very pleasant for social media and YouTube. And metal feel is a worth try over cheap plastics all around.

I'm still using it, bought in 2016 when it just released, only down side now the battery drains fast, but they have a replacement battery which can be bought and i did. Just have not done changing yet
